Eleanor Roosevelt was more than just the First Lady. She took a very active role in her husband's presidency and worked throughout the Great Depression to better the lives of all Americans. She wrote a column called "My Day" to inform and motivate Americans in this hard time. She was rewarded for all of her hard work by being chosen as our nation's first delegate to the United Nations in 1945.
